FAQ

What if I haven't completed the NCLEX?
If you have not completed your NCLEX exam yet, not to worry! Your personal recruiter will be happy to guide you through the process. You can prepare by taking a practice test.
What if I don't have my Canadian passport?
If you're a Canadian citizen, just find a passport office near you and apply for one. Urgent or Express service is available for an extra fee. If you're not a Canadian citizen yet, unfortunately, you will need to wait until you obtain your citizenship before you can start the process.

At the moment, we can only place Canadian nurses in the following specialties:

  • Intensive Care Unit
  • Telemetry
  • Emergency Room
  • Operating Room
  • Labor and Delivery
  • Oncology

Do I need to be vaccinated for COVID-19?
Most facilities in the USA currently require nurses to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. As COVID-19 and the mandates around it are a fluid situation, these policies may change in the future.

Are there any other requirements for the program?
You must have at least 2 years of current nursing experience in your Specialty and meet other basic requirements. You must also specialize in one of the specialties that we can place Canadian nurses in. Your personal recruiter will go over the full requirements with you at the start of the process.
Does working in Telehealth/Telemedicine qualify me for the program?
You must have been employed in-person at a healthcare facility and in your specialized field for the last 2+ years to qualify. Working in Telehealth/Telemedicine does not meet these requirements unfortunately. Once you have been employed in an in-person setting for at least 2 years, we would be happy to work with you.
How long is the employment contract and can it be extended?
The Travel Nurse contract is 26 weeks. If you wish to remain in the USA for a longer period, just talk to your recruiter before your contract is up and they will be more than happy to look at extending your current contract or finding you a new one in the same city, or even a new city.
How long does the whole process take?
Thanks to our dedicated immigration attorney, the whole process normally takes under 8 weeks. You can be off to your new adventure in the US quickly, so start packing!
How much does the whole process cost?
Talk to your recruiter and they will go over all the associated costs with you.
Can I bring my family (spouse/children)?
Yes, your spouse and children under 21 can join you on your adventure! You can either bring your family with you initially or after you've settled in.

Our dedicated immigration attorney will walk you through the whole process, but if you want to know the details, here they are:

If you want to bring your spouse or children (under the age of 21), they may apply for TD visa status. When you apply for the TN Visa, your spouse and children would bring their passports, along with proof of their relationship to you: marriage certificate (for the spouse) or birth certificate (for the children). If your family is applying after you've already received your TN Visa, your spouse or child will also need to bring proof of your TN status, such as a copy of your I-94.

Note that non-Canadian spouses and children must apply for a TD visa at a U.S. consulate regardless of whether you are Canadian.
Can I bring my pet(s)?
You should be able to bring typical healthy pets (cats, dogs, birds). Our dedicated immigration attorney will go over any paperwork required for your pets.
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! Your adventure is better when you share it. If you have a friend with an RN license, just send them to this page and have them Inquire. And best of all, KPG offers a $500 referral bonus for any friends you refer!
Can you assist me with housing accommodations?
